I will make a little more time for comfort and sanctuary this season. I won’t try to figure it all out. I won’t be hard on myself if I don’t get the tree up. Maybe it’ll happen. Maybe it won’t. Either way, it’s okay. Christmas is always in my heart. I will embrace a day at a time. Enjoy the moments with family. Hugs. Smiles. Laughter. Tears. Breaking bread. Counting blessings. Looking forward to the new year.

It is often said that the journey of grief is different for everyone, and unique yet again to each loss we experience in our lives. I encourage those who are dealing with a loss of a loved one, regardless of relationship, person, or pet, that you take time for yourself to heal. Listen to your body. Rest it. Move it. Nourish it. Surround yourself with the support that is the healthiest for you . . .
